AN-132

MULTIPURPOSE TRANSPORT AIRPLANE

First flight 2017

The АN-132 multipurpose transport airplane was developed on the basis of the AN-32 aircraft, which had shown itself to good advantage in service in numerous countries worldwide. The АN-132 has a high power-to-weight ratio making it possible to efficiently fly under normal and adverse operating and base airfield conditions, the hot-and-high conditions inclusive. The АN-132 allows accomplishment of the following missions: transportation of military personnel, weaponry, ammunition, light-weight military equipment and vehicles, palletized cargoes, light self-propelled and non-self-propelled vehicles, air dropping of cargoes and personnel, transportation of casualties.

Chronology

7th of September 2015 first presentation of the new АN-132D multipurpose airplane program is held for the media at the ANTONOV Company facility.
15th of October 2015 the ANTONOV Company and Pratt&Whitney Canada sign the agreement for installation of the PW150A engines on the Аn-132D demonstrator aircraft.
29th of December 2015 F1 nose section of the AN-132 fuselage is removed from the assembly jig.
14th of January 2016 assembled AN-132 fuselage leaves the assembly jig.
16th of November 2016 a team of twelve specialists of KACST (King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia arrives at the ANTONOV Company to study aircraft structure and assimilate the AN-132 assembly procedures.
20th of December 2016 the АN-132D is rolled out of the final assembly shop in a formal ceremony
31st of March 2017 the AN-132D makes its first flight (Victor Goncharov – captain, Bogdan Zagorulko – co-pilot, Мohammad Ayash – pilot (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Volodymyr Nesterenko – leading flight test engineer).
15th of June 2017 the new demonstrator aircraft flies to Le Bourget to take part in the 52-nd Paris Aerospace Show.
10th of July 2017 the АN-132D is demonstrated to members of a NATO delegation headed by General Secretary J. Stoltenberg.
